What is Goal-Setting Really Worth?

Everyone concentrates much of their time on their future or present circumstances. In doing so, just about everyone wishes that they could change something about their lives.

This could be family lifestyle, friendships and of course, finances. The first process to change or improve something in you life is to set goals.

To be honest, not many people even set goals and the few people that try don't come close to achieving them. Why is it that we make decisions regarding our future but don't take them seriously?

We all have different needs and wishes regarding relationships, work, finances, health and friendships. Those are just a few examples of areas in our lives to set goals for.

Why do we even need to set goals? Click here to find out why.

How to Set Lifetime Goals.

The way to begin this process is to first think of your biggest goals, your lifetime goals. So the first step is to think over what you'd like to accomplish in your life.

Examining your biggest goals first is important as you can then break it down into smaller tasks and further into a daily to-do list.

Everyone has different important aspects of their lives so try to set goals in some or as many of the following areas as possible. Below are some questions and areas of life to think about.
Family

Do you want to keep in touch with more family members?
Do you wish to have children?
Do you need to move your family to a new city?

How to Make More Time for Success.

One of my friends is always striding confidently into his work, gets an amazing amount accomplished, and as a result has become respected as a high-achiever, and he still has time to spend with family. He learned how to make time, energy, and others work for him. He quietly and confidently uses techniques that highly successful people use to get more done in less time.

Do you just daydream about what would happen to you in the next 10 years or so?
If not, then now is the time to sit down and make a realistic plan to create the successful future that you want.

Think Failure Or Success And You'd Be Right Either Way.

I want to explain that the concept of success and failure is all down to you, it's completely your choice. These are two opposites that we really would be better off not focusing on. I try not to focus any attention or vocabulary on failure and its opposite, success. The matter of failure or success is only your choice because, other than being social conditioned to accept either one or the other, you have many more positive aspects to accept and focus on. We all define failure in different ways. How do you define these words, especially failure?

Are You Addicted To The Internet?

In September 2007, a 30-year-old guy in China passed away during a prolonged online session in an 'Internet cafe'. He had been playing an online game for three days on the run with little or no rest and reportedly died from exhaustion.

This of course is a rare case, but it's still a powerful reminder, of the attraction of the Internet. By searching just a few pages, you can discover answers to probably just about anything. You are also able to generate avatars that represent you online and in-world, which engage and get together with new virtual friends on social networking sites, chat rooms, and hang out in an entire, virtually imagined world

Where's the Dilemma?

New Year's Resolutions, Don't Procrastinate.

So, how did your New Year's resolutions turn out? Last years, I mean. They are supposed to be judged over the period of a year. Any goals achieved? What are your New Year's resolutions anyway? How long did they last? Has your family or friends achieved theirs? Never mind then, along with most other people, we might have forgotten them along the way, lost our way or quit.

Now you're reading this article so it could soon be the traditional time to draw up yet another list of potential New Year's resolutions. However, if it isn't yet approaching the end of the year then why wait until then?

Articles on the Affects of Stress.

A Comical View Of Caveman Stress.

How did stresses affect the cave man of history?
In the days of the cave man physical reactions to strong emotions were present within them to save them from imminent dangers. Come the stone-age, early man had reactions designed to either, protect himself, fight or flee. These choices of reactions were an essential part of the stone-age man as hunted for food and of course, himself being hunted by the wild predators of the stone-age.

Emotional Reactions To Stress.

I believe that stress doesn't directly come from specific events or activities, but rather from the way you personally react to these events or activities. We make the choices by ourselves the degree and severity of stress and manifests into mental, emotional, or physical stress.

Emotional reactions will be dependant upon and could be influenced by:

* Previous experience with the same or similar event.
* The perceived power and length of the event.
* Presence of any stressors before the event.
* The period of time after the event
* Losing something of immense importance.

Emotional reactions can of course vary depending upon the period of the event.

Where Does Your Stress Come From?

Sources of Stress can come from many categories of life.

My personal stresses originate from keeping up with a steady stream of original writings and postings on this website. I try to adhere to posting every two days and in between as often as I can. My goal of 20 articles and postings per month is quite realistic but does come with a certain stress factor.

How do I deal with my own stress? Well, I try not to even think about it too much and if I do, it's a healthy expectation and stress.

Changes in a job such as increased working hours or additional work load can certainly increase stress. Along with any interpersonal relationship troubles like the kind you could have with your boss. Some other problematic relationships could happen with the in-laws.
